Patrick Gailus's early years began in Portland, Maine; later, he moved to Merrimack, New Hampshire. His love of the outdoors began in Maine, where he enthusiastically attended Center Day Camp on Sebago Basin in Windham, Maine, for over a decade. It was there he started mountain biking, swimming, and overnight camping. He nurtured his love for the outdoors and adventure as a Cub Scout and then Boy Scout as a member of Troop 424 in Merrimack, where he especially enjoyed camping.
His middle and high school years included innovative school curricula, and he developed skills in circus performing, farming, and distance swimming. Spending a year in an outdoor experiential program in Layton, Utah, he honed skills in camping, mountain biking, skiing, and climbing; he completed his high school education at Fusion Academy in Burlington, Massachusetts, graduating in 2022.
Patrick's vocational path started with becoming an assistant counselor at his beloved childhood camp in Maine, CDC, where he enjoyed working with kids outdoors. Later, he worked at Lowes in Amherst, New Hampshire, and Buckley's Great Steaks in Merrimack. These roles lauded his can-do attitude and commitment to providing excellent customer service.
Offering a glimpse into his enthusiastic, can-do attitude, his first foray into technology came as an assistant to the Sound Engineer at the prestigious Funk Studio in Salt Lake City, Utah. His interests in music and technical aptitude saw him swiftly mastering sound engineering tools like ProTools, exhibiting a knack for music mixing and mastering. His friendly personality and love for music enabled him to provide set-up support with several famous actors and musicians.
An avid technology learner, Patrick recently started exploring content creation as part of his interest in gaming and computers. Channeling his innovative spirit into developing a YouTube channel for sharing game insights and enthusiasm, he has exhibited creativity, dedication, and continuous learning about the art of live streaming.
Patrick's virtues of pitching in and contributing also extend to community activities. His involvement in the Student Council in Layton, Utah, and consistent participation in numerous community service projects attest to his dedication to helping others.
His curiosity and love for exploring how things work fuel his hobbies, particularly his fascination with engines. His lifelong interest is the underpinning force of his actions, from learning about them as a child to actively working on restoring them. He has worked on engine design using simulation tools and hands-on with real engines, making mechanical and control system modifications. Similarly, he has built and modified e-bikes, including winter modifications for year-round use. He is interested in civilian and military aviation, trains, historic and modern, high-performance cars, and anything involving steam, diesel, gas, or other engines. His love for history and technology and his tinkering habits provide insight into his innovative personality.
